Overview

The package is meant for developers who ship software that others try to analyse, modify or crack. It combines two kinds of protection. Obfuscation makes the compiled code harder to understand. Runtime checks look for tampering, injected code, virtual machines and debuggers while the software runs.

It builds on the same reverse engineering work that appears in our published research. Nothing described here can be bought or downloaded yet.

No protection stops a skilled and patient analyst for good. The goal is to raise the time and skill that analysis and modification require.

Planned

Planned capabilities

Anti-tamper protection is built. Code obfuscation is planned. The two are sold together as one package.

  1. Code obfuscation

    Planned

Transforms compiled code so its logic is harder to follow in a disassembler or decompiler.

  2. Anti-tamper protection

    Done

Checks protected code and data for changes while the software runs, so patched builds can be detected. It also watches for the tools and environments used to analyse or modify the software.

  3. License manager

    Done

Issues and checks licences for protected builds. It is built, but whether it is sold as part of the package is not decided yet.
